In 2024, Santi & Tuğçe celebrated a decade since their debut album, marking ten transformative years of crafting music that transcends borders, cultures, and genres. To honor this milestone, the Berlin-based duo returns to the North American roots of their musical journey with their latest EP, "Nuestra Tierra". This three-track collection draws inspiration from Indigenous creation mythologies, weaving together timeless stories with their distinctive musical alchemy.

Santi & Tuğçe’s collaboration began over a decade ago in the United States, where they first discovered a shared passion for creating art that speaks to the universal human experience. Now residing in Berlin, the duo’s unique blend of global influences continues to defy categorization, blending electronic textures, organic acoustics, cosmic lyrics and heartfelt vocals into a singular sound. With "Nuestra Tierra", they look back to the landscapes and myths that shaped their artistic beginnings, offering a deeply personal and spiritual homage to the Earth and its ancient narratives.

Opening the EP, "Buffalo Woman" is a profound meditation on resilience, renewal, and the cycles of life. Its lyrics narrate the mystical appearance of the White Buffalo Calf Woman, who brings ancestral wisdom to those gathered around fire and drum. The song’s verses explore themes of searching, loss, and rebirth, carried by a dynamic interplay of soundscapes that merge electronic beats with organic elements. With imagery of stars, ashes, and the perpetual motion of planets, the track embodies the infinite cycles of life, creation, and transformation.

Inspired by a foundational creation story, "Sky Woman" tells the legend of a celestial being who descends from the heavens, bringing life to the Earth. Through vivid lyrics, the track recounts her fall witnessed by birds and a sea turtle, carrying seeds of sunflowers, tobacco, and light. The music mirrors the story’s movement, beginning with ethereal tones and gradually building into a celebratory orchestration of renewal and connection. It’s an ode to the origins of life, carried by sweeping rhythms and Santi and Tuğçe’s emotive vocals.

The EP closes with "Nana", a haunting lullaby that conjures elemental imagery of fire, air, water, and earth. The lyrics evoke a celestial connection, with an astral net woven across the physical and spiritual realms. The song captures a moment of intimacy in desolation, with only two souls left awake under a nebula’s guiding glow. Its delicate, hypnotic melodies create an otherworldly soundscape, a reflection of Santi & Tuğçe's ability to channel the mystical through music.

Through "Nuestra Tierra," Santi & Tuğçe reaffirm their commitment to storytelling through sound, creating music that bridges worlds and traditions. Sung in Spanish, the EP’s lyrics resonate universally, speaking to the connections that bind us to the Earth and to one another.
